Jeff Matthew was born and raised in Brooklyn New York . Jeff was raised by his family, in which he describes as “the village .” Jeff grew up in a big family. Because of this Jeff has an approach to view where he can be an asset. Coming from a spiritual family that went to church every Sunday, Jeff gravitated towards the music. Jeff felt it was amazing to see the musicians, praise, and worship leaders move a congregation. He wanted the ability one day to match the musicians he saw in church. Moving to Massachusetts with his aunts for a few years and moving back to Brooklyn, Jeff eventually picked up the guitar and went back to his home church with the desire to apply what he’s learned to the musical section. Jackson Chery, Jeff’s Uncle was a notable musician in the community , his uncle introduced him to many musicians who would guide Jeff through his musical journey. The rest was history. Jeff Matthew is a Guitarist based in NYC that played with artists such as Hip- Hop artist “J.cole” , dance hall artists such as “Ricky Blaze “, “Krainum” , toured with reggae artist “Jessie Royal “, currently tours with international artists such as “Phyllisia Ross” & “Shwayze “ ! Jeff has been a session musician for Grammy award winning production team , “ LaLabela music group “ and work with other NYC producers such as Legendary producer “ Ty Fyffe “ and many other artists and producers. In Jeff’s words, “My goals are met every time I put myself aside and pick up my Strat, “Happy Feet” or my acoustic, “ Brown Sugar “, and make them dance.” Jeff Matthew looks to make an impact and continue to inspire the generations to come.
